Money!! Money is something that everybody is working for whether just to sustain themselves/their family or to indulge in expensive hobbies. Some people are working to just get their kids through school/college whereas some are working towards buying a BMW or a beach house or something like that. But all of them know one thing for sure, any amount of money is not enough no matter who you are or where you are or what you do.Needless to mention, i am not talking about Steve Jobs(RIP) or Bill Gates or Tatas etc as these people seem have no measure of money they are piling up. This discussion is all about people like you and me, who have big dreamers but narrow pockets,as of now.
I remember that during my first job i used to make very little money and i used to spend all of that having party with my friends, watching movies every week at nearby movie theater or buying novel/books as part of my book collection hobby. At that time i thought that if i could make even a little bit more money somehow, i will be able to make some saving. Next thing i knew, i landed in a job which was giving me 50% more salary than my previous employer. But unlike my expectations, my expenses rose and my savings were again nil. I started having more parties, watching more movies and buying more books.
Its not that i couldn’t control the money i had but instead when you have more money to spend, better things start showing up. For example, you might be listening to music at home or buying DVDs for watching recording of previous concert but when you start making money, you start going to those concerts rather than watching them at home and hence you start spending more. Similarly, you switch from Soft Drinks to Health Drinks and cheaper phones to expensive blackberries. These situation leaves you wanting for more n more and better n better. And you end up with an empty wallet before the end of the month.
Is it only me or do you also have this issue?
